But before long, they discover that they're locked in | Is it just me or does it seen that college teens act really under aged? What I am getting at is that I am in college, and these young adults don't acted right. They curse every word. They liked the weirdest stuff, like porn and rape. Also they are into video games way to much. Is their ever going to be a point where these young adults grow up? It scares me to know that they are in my generation? What parents did they have growing up? | For a college student, your grammar sucks...
People are immature, and I agree with you there. I am in this age group too, and I've noticed how annoying some people can be with their immaturity. You have to suck it up, be yourself and don't let anyone like that bring you down.
They are annoying, and sooner or later they will grow up. When they do, you will be a lot better off than they are.
Heads up, don't let it get to you too much, and don't not have any fun either. That's what they are trying to do - have fun. Have your own fun! College needs the balance of fun and education. They are having too much "Fun", don't have too much "education."
Find your own balance. They will grow up in time. | Can you send pregnant teens to college on Sims 2? I have a few questions.
One, can you send pregnant teens to College?
My second question is, if your teen gets pregnant and has a baby, once she has had the guy, can she then go to university, or will the option no longer be available?
Also, will it show up in your memories that your Sim never went to College? | | Yes, you can. | I'm want to study therapy for troubled teens in college. What type of social work is this? hi I'm wanting to major in social work next year in college but I'm unsure of what type to actually study. I want to get my masters degree & counsel troubled teens specifically who are going through things like substance abuse, divorce, eating disorders, etc. but i dont know what type of counseling/therapy this would be called. If you could help me out it'd be great ! thanks | You may not be able to do therapy with a MSW degree--some states allow it and some do not. If so, the exact specialization depends on the school. In fact you should choose the school based on their having a program to your liking. Small schools will have a single program for all students, but you'll have the opportunity to choose elective classes to suit your interests. Large universities will have a number of programs, e.g., you choose a clinical or community concentration, then within that a specialization for mental health, aging, guyren, drug abuse, etc. The SSWAA has a good student page with information and links relevant to you (see link below).
If your state doesn't allow folks with masters degrees to do therapy, you'll have to get a PhD in counseling or clinical psychology. Most university psychology departments have programs in one or the other or both. However, you will have to specialize in what your adviser is interested in. So if you really want to work with troubled teens and substance abuse, find an adviser who's also interested in that. Check out their websites, which usually state the interests of faculty. You may want to start with the schools you're primarily interested in, and find the faculty members whose interests are closest to yours. Call them and tell them exactly what you want to do. They will let you know if it's a good match for you. Plus, if they're not, they'll know other folks in the field who may be more appropriate. I've also appended the link for APA's excellent student resources page. Good luck!
| Does anyone know of any good books for high school, soon to be going to college, teens? Books by authors such as Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, or William Shakespeare? | Well, the only Dickens book I remembering reading during my high school years was A Tale of Two Cities. But I would also recommend some of the other very popular ones, such as Great Expectations, The Adventures of Oliver Twist, and perhaps even ones like A Christmas Carol. Really, any of his books will be an intelligent, profound read.
As for Jane Austen, I only remember her Pride and Prejudice being a mandatory read in my high school. With her, as well, though, you could really read any of her books if you're looking for an intelligent read. You could read her Sense and Sensibility, Emma, Persuasion, and many of her others.
I distinctly remember reading countless Shakespeare plays in high school. If you have not already read them, I would certainly suggest his Julius Caesar, Othello, Macbeth, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, and perhaps A Midsummer's Night Dream. Just as I have said for the other authors, though, you could really pick many others, for they will also be profound reads.
The suggestions I made were mainly based on the books I remember being mandatory reads in my high school throughout my four years of English, since you are obviously a high school student. But don't let anyone's suggestions limit you. Read as many of the works of these authors as you can, for they are some of the most renowned and respectable authors...
And if you're looking for other authors and books, perhaps also read Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter. I personally did not really care too much for that book, but that doesn't mean it isn't a profound read. Also, things like Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird, James Fenimore Cooper's The Last of the Mohicans, Mark Twain's Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and his The Adventures of Tom Sawyer...All of these are common books written by renowned authors and read by high school and college students...

OK, so I know its a bad economy, and jobs are hard to get. So, my guy is home from college, and hanging with friends. The drug use amoung his peers is pretty high ( pun intended), and frequent. Is anybody eles seeing this. I have older guyren all grown up and away, and I don't rmember this amount of overuse of drugs back 6-8 years ago ..
