Does anyone know where I can find free public records for registered sex offenders? I have tried looking everywhere I can think of but can't seem to find where I can find access to FREE Public Records of sex offenders in my area. Every site I try says it is free but when I go there to look there always seems to be a charge. I thought that was supposed to be Public Knowledge... Anyone know ? |

Is soliciting sex in public places an expression of free speech? Larry Craig's attorney's are claiming his use of hand signals to solicit sex in a public restroom are a constitutionally protected form of free speech.
What do you think? |
"Speech" can be protected by the 1st amendment, even though it is not "spoken" at all. The 1st amendment protects the written word as well. Further, I don't think anyone would argue that deaf persons or others who communicate with sign language have no "freedom of speech".
So we focus on content, not method of delivery. If Larry Craig had not rushed into a plea and instead had gone to trial on this, he might have some effective legal arguments: 1) My actions, if I made them at all, were not intended to solicit sex, and 2) If those actions can be seen as soliciting sex, it was not illegal sex for money, and 3) it is not illegal in that state to "come on" to someone in a public place if no money is to be exchanged and the actual deed is to be done in private. If it were, all the bars in the state would be filled with potential sex offenders.
But if it could be proven that his communications were in fact an invitation to engage in sex for money, those communications would have no more constitutional protection than if he had spoken the words out loud or passed a written note under the stall. And in our legal system, it is constitutionally allowable to ban sex acts in public bathrooms and to charge persons for soliciting sex in public places in exchange for cold hard cash. |
Should free condoms be passed out in sex education in public schools? I am giving a speech in one of my classes and my topic is "Should condoms be handed out free in public Schools?" I have to argue that they should.
I don't know if I completely support the idea of the schools taking action. Not to mention the costs.
However, in my opinion, if a teen wants to have sex, they will despite the consequences and how informed they may or may not be. I feel if they are having sex, why not make it safer?
Do any of you have any views or opinions that may add to the presentation? |
| I think that they should be available at the nurses office, and that it would require a brief "information session" so to speak on proper use, and regarding the saftey and effectiveness of a condom. Students should be informed that while they've made a responsible choice, condoms are not 100% effective at preventing pregnancy, and are not 100% protection againts all STDs. This way you aren't per se commending the act of sex, but offering a reasonable, informed choice to those who elect to engage in sexual activity. This way the school is in a way realizing that it's going to happen anyway, and since it is, doing their job as an instituion of learning teaching guys the responsible way to go about it, even if it's not the most reponsible thing in the world for a high-schooler to be doing. In my opinion, junior high is too young to do this, and the birth control methods should be taught, however abstinence should be encouraged. 12,13, and 14 years old need to be taught that it's simply too young of an age to have sex. |
Is there a website that has sex offenders court records for free public viewing? I recently found out I live near several sex offenders, one being across the street and I have three guyren. The man has three counts of, rape of a guy and guy pornography. I am very concerned! I would move but money is holding me back for awhile. We just used all our money to get into this place. So this info would be helpful to know when these crimes took place and how long it has been since he offended. The sex offender registry only gives you so much to go on. It is amazing how many sex offenders there are out there, I strongly recommend checking out your local registry. I may be scared now but atleast I know who to keep my guys away from. |
Here in the United States if it is public record you can get it on the net.
I looked up the Sex registry. Then I took the names and went to the county they were arrested in on line. Such as if they lived in Warren County. You would go to Warren County Public records.I got dates arrested from as far back as 10 years. And some were only traffic tickets.
Or you could also look up your local live dispatch/911. I listen to that the other day for 4 hours. That was wild. it was the afternoon and there were 2 DWI's while I was listening. (Now some areas are just logs and not live. But keep on searching. I found a live one in an other state that is 7 hours from me.
The WEB is a wonder full thing. |
